Fractional laser resurfacing

Fractional laser resurfacing with the unique Lumenis ResurFX™ technology is used to reduce scarring and rejuvenate the skin. The non-ablative laser heats the skin without damaging it, stimulating collagen production. Increased collagen production results in firmer, smoother and brighter skin. Fractional laser resurfacing reduces the signs of ageing, lightens pigmentation spots and also reduces fine lines, improving overall skin quality.

How does fractional laser resurfacing work?

The fractional laser uses a wavelength that does not cause water evaporation in the tissue (ablation), heating the tissue in a controlled manner. The rise in temperature stimulates neocollagenesis in the body – the process of producing new collagen. Collagen is responsible for skin elasticity; the production of new collagen makes the skin regain its youthful appearance. The unique Lumenis ResurFX™ approach yields long-lasting results with almost no recovery time.

What are the contraindications for the procedure?

  • Oncological diseases, epilepsy, melasma, keloid scars and active inflammations, including herpes
  • Tanned skin – avoid sunbathing for at least three to four weeks before the treatment, including going to the solarium
  • The treatment is not carried out during an antibiotic course, and three to four weeks must have passed since the last time you took the medication
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Tattoos in the treatment area
  • The procedure is not performed on individuals under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.

Contraindications are relative and the final decision on the procedure is made by the specialist during the personal examination and consultation before the treatment.

What should you take into consideration before and after the procedure?

  • Alcohol consumption is not recommended for one day before and after the procedure.
  • Avoid sunbathing (including the solarium) for two weeks before and after the procedure.
  • Skin redness, flushing and swelling may occur after the procedure. You can use a cold compress (only from the fridge, not from the freezer) to reduce the sensation of flushing and burning, and antihistamines to reduce swelling (over-the-counter at the pharmacy: Zyrtec, Claritin).
  • Do not use make-up for 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Avoid going to the sauna and swimming pool for two weeks after the procedure.
  • Avoid active sports for two weeks after the procedure.
  • After the procedure, apply the recommended skincare cream every four hours for the first three days, then two times a day for two weeks or as recommended by a specialist. Use a bandage or plaster, if necessary.
  • Apply SPF50 sunscreen for two months after the procedure to prevent pigmentation. To extend the results of the treatment, use sunscreen all year round.

We recommend that you consult a laser treatment specialist before the procedure to assess its suitability. During the consultation, a specialist will carry out a thorough analysis of your face, evaluate the possible results, explain everything related to the treatment and give instructions for proper aftercare at home.
