A dental hygienist deals with the prevention of oral and dental diseases through dental cleaning.

Using airflow technology, a solution of water and powder is applied to the teeth with a special device, which thoroughly cleans the mouth and removes plaque. After the procedure, your mouth will be completely clean and your teeth smoother, brighter and lighter.

The dental hygienist will advise you on oral hygiene and recommend you products based on the state of your mouth. In the case of more serious problems, the specialist will refer you to a dentist or periodontist in the same clinic.

Periodontist appointments are available only in Tallinn clinic.

After the procedure, we recommend replacing your electric toothbrush nozzle or buying a new toothbrush.

We recommend seeing the dental hygienist up to twice a year.  In addition, it is also necessary to see a dentist at least once a year to prevent dental problems.

Indications for a professional cleaning

• Bad breath
• Dental plaque, pigment or tartar
• Inflammation or bleeding of the gums
• Cleaning before teeth whitening
• Cleaning before splint treatment

Studies show that a cleaning a week before a surgical procedure speeds up the recovery process and reduces the risk of complications.

Contraindications:

• Upper respiratory infections (e.g. influenza, COVID-19 virus)
• Oral herpes
