Cosmelan depigmenting treatment
Look for appointment timesCosmelan® is a unique skincare programme for reducing pigmentation that gives both short- and long-term results. It is one of the most effective depigmentation methods, with potent active ingredients that ensure the reduction and prevention of pigmentation spots caused by excessive melanin production. The treatment reduces visible pigmentation and also acts on the source of the problem by regulating the overproduction of pigment to prevent its reappearance. Cosmelan® is the world’s only dual-action depigmenting method with the added benefit of effective anti-aging action.
The Cosmelan® treatment is carried out as a single procedure during which, after preparing the skin, the aesthetic professional applies a mask with an intensive depigmenting active ingredient. The mask should be washed off at home after 6-8 hours. An important part of the treatment continues at home, preceded by the aesthetic professional’s indications on how to use the home care products. The whole monitored program lasts six months.
What are the contraindications to starting the Cosmelan method?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Sensitivity to ingredients in the products (including aspirin and salicylic acid);
- Active autoimmune and skin diseases in the area to be treated;
- Ongoing treatment with isotretinoin or other oral retinoids;
- Active bacterial, viral and fungal infections in the area to be treated;
- Occurrence of skin hypopigmentation, including vitiligo;
- Recent dermatological surgery in the area to be treated.
To start the Cosmelan treatment, you should first book an appointment for the consultation. Each person’s skin is different, so it is important that a specialist assesses the condition, type and sensitivity of the individual skin. Cosmelan may in some cases be too intense or not suitable for certain skin types. During the consultation, the specialist will also explain any possible side effects and give recommendations on how to mitigate them. The Cosmelan treatment does not end after the procedure in the clinic, but requires daily special care and consistent sun protection. A specialist will help you determine the right treatment plan and give you advice on how to continue the treatment correctly to achieve the best results and avoid skin damage.
Included in the price of the procedure are the primary home care products (Cosmelan potent depigmenting cream, Melan Recovery soothing and restoring balm, Mesoprotech Melan 130 Pigment Control SPF 50 tinted sunscreen).
