Repairing a broken tooth
Look for appointment timesA broken tooth is a problem that many patients seek a solution to. A broken tooth is a tooth that has been damaged, with the fracture extending anywhere from the chewing surface of the tooth to the root of the tooth. This is not just an aesthetic problem, but can cause pain and discomfort, which often worsens when eating or drinking.
Factors that can result in a broken tooth:
- chewing hard foods (e.g. hard candy),
- accidents and physical trauma,
- age-related tooth wear,
- large fillings that weaken the tooth structure.
Patients with a minor chip or a more significant fracture in a permanent tooth are welcome for an appointment. During the appointment, the dentist will assess whether the broken tooth can be immediately restored with a filling material or if more extensive treatment, such as root canal therapy or crowning, is required. If the fracture is not extensive, the aesthetics and function of the tooth will be restored with a filling material. If the fracture is too extensive to save the tooth, the tooth can be painlessly extracted during the same appointment.
The exact price of the appointment depends on the size of the fracture and whether the patient also wants anaesthesia. The dentist may want to take an X-ray during the appointment to assess the size of the fracture. Additional examinations are not included in the price of the service.
Regular teeth cleaning prevents plaque and tooth decay. Otherwise, your teeth will become weaker and more susceptible to fractures.
We accept patients from the age of 18.
Please be sure to fill in the health questionnaire included in your booking confirmation before your appointment.
