Endodontist consultation
Look for appointment timesRoot canal treatment, or endodontics, is a field of dentistry that deals with the prevention and treatment of root canal infections, which makes it possible to preserve the tooth. Root canal treatment can often preserve teeth that would otherwise need to be removed due to infection.
During the consultation, the doctor will assess the condition of your teeth and decide whether root canal treatment is necessary and feasible.
If necessary, X-ray scans will be performed in addition to the consultation (small X-rays and panoramic X-rays as well as comprehensive computed tomography scans can be performed). After gathering the necessary information, the dentist will identify which teeth need root canal treatment, give an estimate of the approximate cost, and prepare a further treatment plan together with the patient. Any further examinations are subject to an additional fee.
Keep in mind that root canal treatment is a complex process, and treating a single tooth may require several appointments. At Confido clinic, we use a special microscope for root canal treatment, which allows us to see the anatomy of the tooth very clearly, including the smallest root canals. In addition, the microscope makes the procedure much faster and more efficient.
We recommend preventative dental check-ups every six months to avoid dental health deterioration and to catch any potential diseases in time. This will help you save both time and money in the future, as problems are easier to solve if they are identified early.
The main symptoms indicating the need for root canal treatment:
- The tooth is very sensitive to hot or cold drinks and food
- Severe toothache that spreads to the eyes
- The tooth has changed colour
- Pustule on the gum
- Toothache when chewing or biting on food
- The tissue surrounding the tooth is swollen or sensitive
Before the consultation:
- Think through the questions you want the dentist to answer.
- Make sure you don’t have any upper respiratory infections to protect the healthcare workers Swallowing is also more difficult when you are sick.
- We recommend cleaning your teeth and mouth before your appointment. Confido also has hygiene facilities where you can brush your teeth with your own supplies. We also have disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste available.
- Carefully fill in the pre-appointment questionnaire and feel free to tell us about any other medical conditions you have and your daily medications in order to make the dental treatment as effective as possible.
Contraindications:
- Upper respiratory infections (e.g. influenza, COVID-19 virus)
- Oral herpes
We accept patients from the age of 16.
