Wisdom teeth are the rearmost molars that fully develop in adulthood. In most people, these teeth no not have enough space to align properly and so they remain partially or fully impacted in the jaw.

Before wisdom tooth removal, you need to have a consultation, during which the doctor will explain the necessity of wisdom tooth removal and the risks involved. During the appointment, the doctor will also perform relevant radiological examinations, if necessary. A treatment plan is discussed and drawn up together with the patient. Any further examinations are subject to an additional fee.

The main reasons for wisdom tooth removal:

• The wisdom tooth does not fit in the jaw
• Orthodontic indications
• Inflammation of the wisdom tooth nerve
• The wisdom tooth causes pain, trauma to the mucosa, inflammation or dentition disorders
• Presence of cysts or bone changes

Please note that each patient is different and it is up to the specialist to decide whether wisdom tooth removal is necessary. At Confido, wisdom tooth removal is performed only after a prior consultation or with an in-clinic referral.
