An X-ray scan is a widely used primary examination method in which an image is obtained using X-ray radiation. The examination takes the anatomical characteristics of the patient into account in order to minimise the radiation dose. When X-ray scans are performed on children, specifically adapted programmes and techniques with lower radiation doses are used.

Please note!

  • Ionising radiation is used for X-rays. We are constantly working to reduce radiation exposure so that the examinations are carried out with the lowest possible dose of radiation.
  • You will be referred for an X-ray by your physician, and a referral is always required (even for paid services).
  • We also perform examinations under the Health Insurance Fund contract.
  • Unless there is an urgent medical indication, X-ray scans are not performed during pregnancy.

X- ray

The X-ray result is a digital image from which the radiologist and/or treating physician obtains the necessary information for further treatment of the patient. X-rays are mainly performed on the head area (including the sinuses and the brain), bones, joints and lungs. The study is quick and painless. Depending on the area, it is necessary to remove jewellery, glasses and other metal objects.

Test results will be assessed by a radiologist and a response will be sent to the referring physician. Upon request, we can provide you with an USB carrier containing the test images and appropriate software (for an additional fee of €25). We perform X-ray imaging on a live queue basis, but if desired, it is possible to book the investigation time in advance.

An X-ray is performed only if referred by a physician. If you have a referral from a general practitioner, always let us know when booking the appointment and, in this case, you will have to pay the deductible yourself.

NB! We do not perform X-ray examinations or roentgenoscopies.
We accept children only from 15 years old.
