Dr Anu Sööt graduated (cum laude) from the University of Tartu with a degree in paediatrics in 1981 and has specialised in paediatric neurology since her 5th year in medical school. In 1990, Dr Anu Sööt defended her scientific dissertation on the topic of “The effect of prematureness on the nervous system of children”. The doctor is still very much interested in this topic. In addition to treating children, Dr Sööt has also taught medical students and residents. The doctor has also had the opportunity to study paediatric neurology in the USA, the United Kingdom, Japan, Finland and Sweden. Over the years, the doctor has gained important experience in clinical practice. Children are very interesting thanks to the diversity of their development. In my daily work, I deal with all issues related to the field of neurology in children: developmental delays, seizures and epilepsy, non-epileptic seizures, headaches, ticks, Tourette’s syndrome, etc. She treats her patients with care and always tries to explain the nature of the problem to the patient as well as their parents.
