Doctor Kalvet is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon specialising mainly in hip and knee joint replacements. Shoulder, knee, hip and ankle arthroscopies also form a large part of his daily work.
Tauno Kalvet obtained his medical education at the University of Tartu and further studies have taken him not only to Estonia but also to Sweden (St. Göran Hospital in Stockholm and Lund University Hospital) and the USA (The Kegg Orthopaedic Foundation).
Dr Kalvet is a member of the following professional societies:
- Estonian Association of Orthopaedics
- Estonian Society of Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology
- American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)
- International Cartilage Regeneration and Joint Preservation Society (ICRS).
In his free time from medicine, Dr Kalvet enjoys cycling and mountain skiing, and he has been a member of the Tallinn Rotary Club since 1995.
