Appointments
At the Confido Paediatric Urology Centre, appointments with a paediatric neurologist, physiotherapist, speech therapist and psychologist are available directly, without a referral.
To see a paediatric neurologist funded by the Health Insurance Fund, you must have a digital referral from your family doctor (average waiting time is three to four months). You can book an appointment on the national digital registration system (www.terviseportaal.ee) or by calling the Confido Health Insurance call centre at +372 666 2727. You can see specialists from the Confido Paediatric Neurology team funded by the Health Insurance Fund after a doctor’s appointment.
You can also consult a neurologist via an e-consultation. To do this, first contact your family doctor. To be referred to the service, you need to send an e-consultation to a Confido neurologist. Paediatric neurologist Dr. Teele Meren and neurologist Dr. Siim Schneider will reply to your request.

What to consider before your appointment?
The most important thing is to be able to describe the main problem. Before the appointment, sit down with your child and think about when the problems began, what affects them and what has helped. If there is pain, think about whether it is always of the same nature, which area hurts and how long the pain lasts. In case of a developmental or learning disability, bring a personality assessment from the child’s kindergarten, school or therapists, if possible.
Before the appointment, explain to your child that you are coming in to just talk, and depending in the problem, they will also be examined. Avoid scaring the child: for example, avoid saying things like “don’t worry, they won’t give you a shot”, because all the child will hear is the word “shot” and think the worst. Consider whether a small reward after the appointment would help your child cooperate. Don’t worry – if we can’t do everything in one visit, we can meet again.
