Eyelid plastic surgery or blepharoplasty
Look for appointment timesThe elasticity of the skin on the eyelids decreases with age, which can lead to excess skin folds on the upper eyelids and bags under the lower eyelids. As a result, a person’s face may appear tired and droopy. Eyelid plastic surgery can remove excess skin and refresh the overall appearance.
Eyelid plastic surgery can also remove excess fatty tissue that has accumulated around the eyes, which can amplify tiredness in the eye area. The procedure may also be necessary when excessive skin folds are within the visual field and disturb vision.
Eyelid correction is a relatively minor surgical procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. Provided the patient feels well, they can leave the clinic immediately after the surgery. The operation is performed through small incisions in the folds of the eyelids, and excess fat and skin are removed during the procedure.
Patients can choose to have either upper or lower eyelid correction or both eyelids done at the same time.
Following the operation, there will be moderate swelling and bruising around the eyes, which will begin to subside from the third day after surgery. Mild bruising, however, may persist for up to 2 weeks after eyelid surgery. The sutures will be removed six days after the operation, and the scars from the surgery usually heal quickly and without problems.
