Testicular prosthesis implantation surgery
Look for appointment timesTesticular biopsy is a medical procedure in which a small tissue or cell sample is taken from the testicle. One of the purposes of the procedure may be to determine the cause of possible reproductive or infertility problems. Biopsy is particularly important for men with reduced sperm count or complete infertility.
During the procedure, a local anesthesia is given to numb the area. Then, a small puncture is made in the testicle with a needle to take a tissue or cell sample, which is sent to a laboratory for examination. Biopsy can be open (with an incision) or closed (using a needle).
After the procedure, there may be mild pain, swelling, or bruising in the testicular area. Patients are advised to rest and avoid physical exertion for at least a few days after the procedure. The procedure is usually very safe, but as with any medical procedure, complications such as infections or bleeding may occur.
